Just a short update...

I am out of the hospital! :) I got out yesterday afternoon, and still am being watched like a hawk...but at least I get to smell the fresh air and sleep in my own bed. I'm staying up in Omaha for the rest of the summer, but at least I know my physicians here are top notch and will keep me healthy.

I'm ready to embark on a great adventure without any strings attached.

Love,
Rachel

:)

Hi all! Here's an update...

So lots of good news. :) I am getting better each and everyday. I feel much stronger now that they're giving me nutrients and lipids, and as of yesterday they are even letting sip some water and sprite, and I might even get to eat some jello or clear chicken broth. Tomorrow I get another endoscopy, and they'll be able to see exactly how well the medications they've been giving me are working. Hopefully I'll get more good news!!

But we'll see how it goes. :) I'll let you guys know!

Rachel

Dear Reader,

For all of you that read my blog, I'm going to give you the time of day and fill you in on what's happening at the moment.

I am in the hospital.

No, I'm not dying. But yes, I am very sick. My doctor decided that I needed to be checked in immediately after my appointment, and I'm going to be in here for a couple days. Today they're going to get me rehydrated because I haven't been able to keep any fluids or food down since Friday, and tomorrow they will start the testing. There's a lot to be done in the next couple of days, and sadly I can't finish my summer school course that I came here to do. But being healthy is more important right? I trust my doctors, and I trust my parents. I am so grateful that they are here in Omaha right now, because I don't think I could ever endure this without them. It's a world far too frightening, and unknown. I haven't said much to them or anyone, but I'm really upset about this whole situation. I want to be out of this hospital bed and back into my own, studying for tomorrow's morning organic chemistry class. But that doesn't seem to be in my near future. It's alright though...because I have hope that this will all come to a close soon...

So please, whoever you are, wish me the best of luck. I'll try to update again soon.

Much love,
Rachel
